Sebastian festival and Old San Juan would be gridlocked. We then found out this particular weekend Puerto Rico was having a St. Our original plan was to take a taxi to Old San Juan and leave our luggage at Barrachina which is open 7 days a week, and then tour Old San Juan. We disembarked at 9:00AM and our flight didn't leave until 7:23PM. Live music was performed on several occasions which was a very nice touch. We arrived at the Pan American Cruise Port on Sunday. Excellent quick housekeeping service during the day. We enjoyed the drinks from the bars, the activities the hotel offered and the 4th of July fireworks show they put on for the guests. Be sure to ask for free water bottles from the front desk every day before you head out on your adventures. There are also several nice places in the Miramar area, just across the bridge (Casita Miramar-OMG, but get a reservation!). to have a steak you could have back home? Mojito's was our favorite place to eat. We avoided Morton's because why travel all the way to P.R. We did have some early mornings where only Starbucks was open, but it was nice that it was there. We skipped the expensive buffet breakfast in favor of the Ice Cream place that had some nice options or the independent restaurants offsite but nearby. There are several restaurants on site and we found all the ones we tried to be quite good. The only noise remotely bothering us was other people unable to close their room doors quietly (hint, turn the handle while you close it, then release). The location is excellent, right on the beach, and we found the room comfortable and quiet. "We really enjoyed our stay at Caribe Hilton. IF you read bad reviews elsewhere, do keep in mind that they may have picked a loud room or did not read signs or info first" But there were others (sorry I can't remember). Names I remember that stand out, Eunice, Ryanett, Miquel. Front desk personnel were very good and helpful. Also very quite in comparison to the canbanas. We ran into trouble when we had already checked out and our late flight was cancelled. On our original checkout day we used the locker room to shower and change for a late flight. Actually hung on to two towels for two days. They give you pool/beach towels, but I will tell you that they ran out a few times. There is waitress service at the pool and beach. Solera was our go to during the day or for snacks/drinks. That said, Saturday night was the worst, but other nights were quite. Do know that it can be noisy some nights and the music may go til 2am. We stayed in the cabanas building that looks out on to one of the pool areas.
